My husband found out last week that a few Duke's of Hazard celebrities were going to be nearby for a car show. My husband grew up watching that show and my own children have grown up watching the DVD sets of the show with their daddy. They all loved meeting Cooter and Rosco and getting a few autographs and pictures taken!
So exciting! I grew up watching that show too! I loved Cooter!
ReplyDeleteI loved the Dukes of Hazard growing up. How neat to meet the actors! Yet, I would not let my girls watch it. I grew up thinking that dressing like Daisy was okay. Now I realize the immodesty of the way she dressed. How do you feel about that?
ReplyDeleteHi Amy-
ReplyDeleteI grew up watching the Dukes of Hazzard as well but don't remember it much. Of course, Daisy is famous for her little Daisy Duke cutoffs. While I try to instill a sense of modesty in my children I never even gave that show a second thought. There is no cuss words, sex, or violence and while I don't quite "like" how Daisy dresses, my children see much worse just being out in public. Now if Daisy acted sluttly, or things were more provoctive on the show the children would not be watching it. But I guess my view is that even with the way Daisy dresses it is a very mild show and still okay for children. Becca does know that dressing like that is not okay, even when she sees people all around her wearing those types of clothes. Your thoughts?
