Coupon Crazy by Mary Potter Kenyon

With getting back into blogging starting with reviews it is only fair that the first review be of my mom's book, Coupon Crazy, which was released on August 1st by Familius Publisher.

I read it immediately upon receiving it (lucky me, I received a review copy extra early!). You know I loved it, but even if I wasn't her daughter I still would have been fascinated by the history of coupons, the in depth research on the average coupon user, etc. Instead of raving on and on about the book (which I totally would!) as her daughter I'm linking to a review on Coupons in the News.

It is available on Amazon and Barnes & Noble. Also available at your local Barnes & Noble or can be ordered from your independent local bookstore. Also available for the NOOK.

Life Goes On...

It feels strange, to see the world around us continue on with normal lives when a big piece of ours is missing.

With hubby back at work and the normal day activities needing attention I have to get back into the groove of things whether I want to or not (I don't want to - I'd rather stay in bed all day but with three kids that's not going to happen!).

I have some reviews that are way past due so will work myself back into blogging by posting those in the coming week. And, on the days that I can form some tangible words, I will write about life without our little Jacob. Something that is still so hard to comprehend.

Our Angel

Jacob B. Flesher, 8 year old son of Ben and Elizabeth Flesher of Manchester, went peacefully from his earthly home to his heavenly home Monday, August 19, 2013, after a courageous three year battle with cancer.

Friends may call from 2:00 – 8:00 p.m. Wednesday, August 21, 2013, at Kramer Funeral Home in Dyersville.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, August 22, 2013, at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Manchester with burial in the church cemetery.

Born June 24, 2005 in Dubuque, Iowa with a priceless smile and a giving heart Jacob lived his short life with a purpose. He was a self-less soul; always looking out for his brother and sisters and even his mommy and daddy, collecting toys to donate to the Children's Hospital for other sick children, and having empathy for others plights in life. Even through his many hardships in life he found joy, love, and hope with an amazing strength and courage. He taught us well and will forever be in our hearts.

Jacob loved Star Wars, animals (especially his rescue kitten; Skippy), drawing, LEGO, cooking, gardening, his family and friends, and life. He made the most of everyday and fit more into his life of 8 years than many do in decades.

Survivors include his parents, Ben and Elizabeth (Kenyon) Flesher of Manchester, 3 siblings: Rebecca-9, Joseph-5 and Amy-4 months all at home, grandparents: Mary Potter Kenyon of Manchester, Starlett (Nick) Luna of Milan, OH, a step-grandfather, Kevin Hinkle of Willard, OH, aunts and uncles; Daniel Kenyon, Michael Kenyon, Rachel Kenyon, Matthew Kenyon, Emily Kenyon, Katherine Kenyon, and Abigail Kenyon, Jeff (Cherie) Flesher and Mandy Flesher; many great aunts & uncles.
