Numb

I don't want to sit down and write this...it makes it too real.

Yesterday my world stopped. We found a large lump in Jacob's abdomen. We took him to the doctor, who mentioned cancer, and set us up for a CT scan this morning. The CT scan showed what looks to be a Wilms Tumor (cancer of the kidney...which they can't say for certain until after a lab declares it that). It has spread to his adrenal gland and his lungs. Which means it is a stage 4 cancer.

He will have a very invasive surgery on Monday, removing his left kidney, and the areas on his lungs. He will be in the hospital 6-7 days and will later need chemo and radiation.

Please pray for my little boy. He is the sweetest 5 year old you would ever meet and I can't stand thinking about him going through this.

  15. I am so very sorry. My thoughts and prayers will be with Jacob and your family. My 30 year old daughter was diagnosed with a chronic illness when she was 14 and we've been through alot, but I can't even imagine what you must be going through. Try to stay strong (alot easier said than done). I have learned one thing --having the right doctor (pediatric specialist and surgeon) and getting the best medical care possible can make a difference. And depending on the outcome, St Judes Hospital may be able to help him. Please try and keep us posted. So many of us care about you. Sharon

I am wishing a speedy recovery for Jacob and strength for you and your family. If you need anything let me know. I could even babysit possibly if need be. Janice (in Indy)

  34. We are lifting your little Jacob up to the Lord in prayer today, and we will be praying for him tomorrow as well. I know without doubt that Jesus can heal this child, and we are praying that the Holy Spirit moves through him now and makes every cell in his little body completely whole and well. And we are praying for you, too, Jacob's Mama, for strength and peace. Blessings to you and your family.

  38. My prayers and positive thoughts are going out to you and your family. We never understand why these things happen to us and usually we are asking "Why me". Our Creator has a plan for all of us. I don't think cancer is in that plan so I pray he does what is best for all of you!!!Stay strong and live each minute the best you can.
