I am so impressed that your family of five came so close, and made me realize my grown daughter and I should be able to make it. Rents around here go for $500 - $600 per month, so I think it's doable. Wish me luck!Deborhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03333252296283890871noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-787377491196386141.post-56151210845954842102010-07-06T09:43:05.218-05:002010-07-06T09:43:05.218-05:00Reading your posts really made me realize how much...Reading your posts really made me realize how much money my husband & I spend eating out & on other random stuff we don't really need. We by no means spend frivolously, but there are plenty of extras we could cut out so we'll be able to save more money. $1200 a month may not be possible for hubby & me to attempt. Between rent & car payments we're looking at $1300 easy. However, I have been looking more at our finances & I think I've found a number we can live comfortably off of.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-787377491196386141.post-31215808149857417332010-06-30T16:31:14.806-05:002010-06-30T16:31:14.806-05:00I must say I really enjoyed this last month "...I must say I really enjoyed this last month "with you". I look forward to your posts about saving on groceries. While there is NO way my family of 5 can live on $1200/month, I am now trying to get our expenses down. I buy a lot of "store brand" items instead of name-brand. We do eat a lot of fresh/frozen items. We also have a small garden. We live in North Carolina (also with a family of 5, soon to be 6) so that may be the difference. You seem to get a lot of awesome freebie coupons---where do you find them??? I am down to $170 per week on groceries (including diapers, cleaning supplies, etc), but would LOVE to get it down even farther. Any suggestions or advice from anyone that took your challenge would be appreciated!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
